Find your Nursing clearing place
Our award-winning three and four year Nursing courses are approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), to help you become a confident practitioner, equipped to join a health care team upon graduation.
Our Nursing degrees are taught by world-leading academics with expertise in nursing practice and research. You’ll hone your practical skills at our modernised on-campus clinical skills lab and virtual reality (VR) room. You'll undertake a variety of placements in hospital and community settings in the NHS Forth Valley area. Stirling nursing students have repeatedly won Student Nursing Times Awards.
More than £37,000 bursary available
Scottish nursing students are entitled to a £10,000 bursary each year from SAAS (Scottish Awards Agency Scotland) for the first three years of study, and an additional £7,500 if completing an Honours year.
We also cover the costs of occupational health consultations, criminal record checks, compulsory uniforms and inoculations, representing approximately £430 of savings.
Students under 22 can also enjoy free Scotland-wide bus travel, minimising your costs of travel between placement and study.
Nursing placements
Nursing placements are a key foundation of studying Nursing at Stirling. You'll develop skills and experience with placements at NHS Forth Valley and third sector partnerships.
Our placements go beyond standard hospital placements. You'll learn from a variety of practical experience conducted in diverse settings. These include the prison service, care homes, forensic placements and acute wards.
Hear from our students about their experiences on placement.
