If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of your English language skills. For a complete list of the English language qualifications we accept, including where we are able to waive an English condition based on certain local qualifications, please see our English Language requirements.

Some of our courses offer advanced entry routes that enable students to gain exemption from Year 1 of study and go directly into Year 2 or sometimes 3. Advanced Entry is not available on all courses, and entry requirements may vary. International Baccalaureate

For the full diploma, the overall points requirement depends on the course you are applying for. For some courses you will need certain HL subjects. Full details are on our course pages. Applicants must have a minimum score of HL5 in any essential subject required for the course.

We also accept the IB Career related programme (IBCP) with qualifications equivalent to at least 3 A-Levels. Applicants must have a minimum score of HL5 in any essential subject required for the course, or a suitable BTEC where appropriate. We accept applications from graduates of Bangladeshi Higher Education Institutes recognised by UK ENIC (formerly UK NARIC). Applicants must have either:

Holders of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels obtained locally, will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate degree courses for both Year 1 and Year 2 entry. Details of the required subjects and grades for each degree can be found on course webpages.

Completed Hong Kong Higher Diplomas and Hong Kong Associate Degrees with a GPA of 2.9-3.3 may also be accepted for Year 2 entry. Contact our Admissions team for course specific entry requirements from these courses.

Where specific A-levels are required for any course, an elective in that subject will be required from HKDSE category A electives.

We do not accept integrated/combined science electives for degrees that require a full A-level subject in that area (biology for example).

Where A-level maths is required for any course, you will need to take Extended Mathematics. We accept both M1: Calculus and Statistics and M2: Algebra and Calculus.

Postgraduate

Minimum grade of a 2.2 equivalent (2.3 GPA, C+) in a four year Bachelor’s degree (Honours).

We usually require US applicants to hold a combination of the following qualifications for entry. As a minimum, applicants must hold an accredited high school diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale, minimum B average), and one letter of reference. We will be test-optional for entry to the 2024/2025 academic year until further notice. If submitting test scores, we ask for any of the following:

ACT composite score of 26 or above (with no individual section below 24)
SAT - Post March 2016: Score 1200
Two AP tests at grade 3 or above (taken in junior or senior year of high school)
