Katoni Engineering Ltd is an engineering consultancy and we work in the offshore and onshore energy industries. That means optimising plant and making businesses run more effectively. Importantly nowadays, we also work to reduce companies' emissions.

It's amazing what an economics degree can do

So there's lots I love about my job but one of the things my degree has helped me with is actually how I think in terms of being a leader. Economics gives you a great framework for thinking clearly, thinking through lots of different eventualities and thinking with structure.

Being at the University of Stirling was fundamental to my success and I've used economics all the way through my career. I've been involved with different types of companies and also giving advice to governments. I've been fortunate to work on things like Champion League finals, UEFA Cup finals and world sport events.

Anybody thinking about doing economics would be providing a great start to their career.
