Advice for parents and carers

Going to university can be a big step for students and their families – but it’s also an exciting time.

From the application process onwards, we regard all students as adults. All correspondence is sent directly to the individual applicant or student. Our services are always happy to speak to parents or guardians. We’ll provide all the support and advice needed to make the most of university life.

Applying to university

Most students will apply via UCAS. Find out all about the application process so that you can support your student successfully through it.

All the important dates and deadlines for applications can be found on the UCAS website.

Campus life

Our 330-acre campus is a wonderful place to call home. With an Olympic-sized swimming pool, on-site cinema, restaurants, and bars, it’s easy to see why we’ve earned a five-star rating for our facilities in the QS World Rankings.

Stay connected

Parents, carers and families are an important part of our community. We want to help you stay informed and involved throughout your student’s time at Stirling and beyond. Stay engaged with the University’s wider community through our Alumni and Supporter Network, which brings together graduates, and friends of Stirling from around the world.

By staying connected, you can:

  • Receive our bi-monthly e-newsletter with stories from campus, and graduates round the world.
  • Hear about events and opportunities to get involved.
  • Keep up with University news, research, and developments.
