Interdisciplinary Research in Supply Chain and Logistics (IRiSCaL)
Interdisciplinary Research in Supply Chain and Logistics (IRiSCaL) is a dynamic research hub based at the University of Stirling. We bring together researchers from diverse disciplines to co-create knowledge, tackle complex supply chain challenges, and generate real-world impact.
Whether you're a researcher, student, policymaker, or industry partner, we invite you to explore our community, engage with our events, and collaborate with us in shaping the future of sustainable and resilient global supply chains.
Purpose
IRiSCaL is built on two core pillars:
- Collaboration: we foster interdisciplinary collaboration that leads to grant applications, high-quality publications, and actionable insights. Our work is grounded in real-world relevance and academic excellence.
- Community and Engagement: we actively build a vibrant research community and engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, industry practitioners (such as procurement teams), and media partners (e.g., BBC documentaries and press coverage).
Vision
To become a leading interdisciplinary research group generating transformative insights in supply chain and logistics that benefit academia, industry, and society.
Mission
- Facilitate Interdisciplinary Research: connect expertise across Stirling Management School and other university departments to solve pressing supply chain issues.
- Promote Knowledge Creation and Dissemination: support members in securing research funding, publishing high-impact work, and deepening theoretical and practical supply chain knowledge.
- Enhance External Engagement: bridge the gap between academic research and real-world impact through collaboration with industry, government, and communities.
- Build a Cohesive Community: cultivate a supportive environment where researchers share insights, offer peer feedback, and grow through professional development.
