As a student, you can book various rooms and spaces for study purposes or to accommodate a club or society. The student policy for campus space bookings applies to all student bookings.
You can make a room booking via timetablesandbookings.stir.ac.uk. User guides for the room booking system are at the bottom of the page.
The Presidents and Secretaries of each club or society can make a booking on behalf of Students' Union affiliated clubs and societies.
Club and society representatives can book lecture theatres, classrooms, or centrally controlled exhibition space for club or society-related events/meetings.
Use the option ‘Book a room for Student Sports, Clubs and Societies’ option via the new booking system.
You will have access to booking rooms in the Cottrell Building for the following times:
Your booking must be made at least three days in advance, and for the running semester only.
For bookings at short notice or during teaching hours (outside the times listed above), email theunion@stir.ac.uk to make your request.
To book a stall or an event space in Campus Central or Atrium in Andrew Miller Building, use the option ‘Request a Stall or Event Space’. Your booking request will be reviewed and processed by Stirling Venues.
For any other activity or booking request, contact theunion@stir.ac.uk for guidance and to make your booking request.
Meeting rooms in Campus Central are not available for student use, as these are exclusive to research staff.
Sports Union Club can request this via the Sports Union President or attend the weekly Fixtures/Bookings Meeting, held at 11am every Thursday during semester time.
Clubs or societies can make a booking request by emailing the coordinator/sabbatical office who will forward the booking request to sport.bookings@stir.ac.uk.
Students can use and book different spaces across the campus for study and for virtual online exams.
When teaching spaces are empty and not in use, they can be used as study spaces by students.
Students can also book classrooms for study sessions or presentation practice using the option ‘Book a Teaching Room for Study Space’.
Classrooms can be booked for study use up to 5 days in advance and for 2 hours maximum booking. Available booking times are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:00.
Should you have a specific need to book a teaching room outside this policy, please email ask@stir.ac.uk with details of your request.
The library has bookable group study spaces for group study. There are also non bookable study spaces and desks that you can use in the library.
For bookings in June, use LibCal, with link here.
For bookings starting 1st July onwards please use timetablesandbookings.stir.ac.uk. Look for the link to Book a Library Study Space under student entrance.
During the University exam diets, students can book a desk should they wish to sit a virtual exam on campus.
There are options to book a desk only, allowing you to use your own laptop, or you can book a PC.
During exam diets, you will be able to book the desk or PC between Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:00 for a maximum of 8 hours.
