Golf fans are being offered the chance to play some of the world’s most prestigious courses – including the highly exclusive, invitation-only Oakmont, Indian Creek and Winged Foot clubs in the United States – as part of the University of Stirling’s annual Golf Auction.
Prestigious lots – available to view on the auction website – also include rounds at Augusta Country Club, Gleneagles, Royal Portrush, Turnberry and Sunningdale.
The auction – now in its second year – supports the high-performance golf programme at the University of Stirling, Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence. The programme is recognised as one of the most attractive destinations for student golfers in Europe, with many of its athletes going on to compete in the professional game.
David Bond, Director of Performance Sport at the University of Stirling, said: “Our golf auction is back bigger and better than before, with a number of premium lots available to bidders. We have rounds at some of the world's best courses available, including exclusive private members' clubs both here in the UK and abroad.
“This is an excellent opportunity for groups of friends to come together to book a round of a lifetime, or to treat the golf enthusiasts in your life to an exclusive experience.”
He added: “Proceeds from the auction are re-invested into the University’s high-performance golf programme, which continues to nurture the next generation of golfing talent here at Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence.”
The Golf Auction is now live and runs until 8pm (BST) on Sunday 5 October – view lots (including terms and conditions) and place your bids on the website now.

Our golf auction is back bigger and better than before, with a number of premium lots available to bidders. We have rounds at some of the world's best courses available, including exclusive private members' clubs both here in the UK and abroad.
Oakmont Country Club, located in Plum and Oakmont, Pennsylvania, was established in 1903 and is regarded as the oldest top-ranked golf course in the United States. It has hosted the US Open on 10 occasions, including the 125th edition of the major competition earlier this year. The winning bidder will receive two rounds for three people, on consecutive days, with a member.
The highly exclusive Indian Creek Country Club is located in the heart of the so-called Billionaire's Bunker – a private island, gated community in Miami, Florida. The club is encircled by a village of around 40 celebrity-owned luxury mansions, and only those lucky enough to be invited by members can test themselves on the stunning 72-par course.
Founded in 1921, Winged Foot Golf Club, in Mamaroneck, New York State, is admired as one of the world’s best, having hosted six US Opens, the PGA Championship and the 1949 Walker Cup. As a private club, the club is not typically available to non-members – however, the Golf Auction is offering a round for three golfers with a club member.
Augusta Country Club’s origins are traced back to 1899, with it among one of the first golf clubs established in America. It is the neighbour of the world-famous Augusta National, best known for hosting The Masters tournament, one of golf’s four majors. Like Winged Foot, the lot includes a round for three players with a member.
Bidders will also have the chance to win a round for three with former professional turned commentator Anthony Wall at Sunningdale in Berkshire, and a round for three with ex-rugby professional Rory Lawson at North Berwick. Other lots include rounds at Royal Portrush, Turnberry, Archerfield and Princes; a golf bag signed by Justin Rose; a training day with 2025 Walker Cup captain Dean Robertson, Head of Golf at the University of Stirling; and the opportunity to join the University's high-performance golfers at their winter training camp in the United Arab Emirates.
