About me
I am a Trainee Health Psychologist at the University of Stirling, currently working in the NHS within a team specialising in Health Improvement and Lifestyle Medicine. My role is largely centred on supporting inpatients who want to stop smoking.
Across my years in the NHS, I have worked with a wide range of groups—from individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, to people living with dementia, to those seeking help with smoking cessation. These experiences have fostered a strong interest in supporting people more broadly, not only those formally identified as ‘patients’. This has led to a genuine enthusiasm for public health and a commitment to helping individuals live healthier, more sustainable lives.
I am particularly interested in exploring how health literacy shapes a person’s perception of their own health and their ability to manage it. I am also keen to understand the effectiveness of health improvement interventions delivered at a population level.
