Dr Muhammad Jehanzaib

My research interests focus on hydro-climatic extremes, peatland hydrology, and climate change impacts on water resources. I am particularly interested in flood and drought risk modelling, early warning systems, and the application of AI and machine learning in hydrological forecasting. My work also integrates remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and data-driven modelling to study peatland processes, sustainable water resource management, and nature-based solutions for climate resilience.

I am a dedicated educator with Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) certification. I have more than five years of teaching experience in Civil Engineering. I worked at Qurtuba University of Science & Information Technology as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, where I designed and delivered core modules in Hazards & Disaster Management, Applied Hydrology, Probability & Statistics for Water Resources Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. I integrated real-world case studies and modern tools such as Arc-GIS and R into my teaching, led the implementation of outcome-based education practices, supervised undergraduate research, and organised seminars on emerging data-science applications in engineering. Earlier, at Hanyang University, I served as a Teaching Assistant, teaching Introduction to Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering while guiding students through hands-on GIS-based flood modelling and hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
