Abstract
First paragraph: In this paper I want to challenge the idea that education is a process of initiation. More precisely, I want to challenge the idea that social interaction requires a certain degree of commonality and that it is the very task of education to initiate the child into this commonality, so that thereupon it can take part in “real” social interaction.
