Make the most of your membership with support and guidance

We take pride in helping you make the most of your membership. We have a range of services available to help you reach your goals, regardless of your current experience or level of fitness.  

  • Exercise at least three times per week to improve your wellbeing and see results.
  • 150 minutes of moderately intense exercise per week will improve your health.
  • A 1 hour workout is just 4% of your day.  

The fitness support services outlined on this webpage are all included as standard with your membership.

Getting Started Appointment

A getting started appointment is your personalised introduction to exercise. The team will set you off on the right path that best aligns to your goals, interests and abilities.  

The appointment will: 

  • Provide advice and recommendations on what to do.
  • Help you feel more confident in the gym environment.
  • Establish your goals and areas of interest.
  • Support you to get active straight away. 

To get the most from your appointment, you should: 

  • Download the Technogym Training App.
  • Complete the Getting Started Pre-Appointment questionnaire from the app. 

Helping hand appointments

Helping hand appointments are designed uniquely by you. Get guidance and advice with a specific area you need help with. No question is too big or too small. 

Ever wondered how to do something different on the treadmill or want to explore the functional training rig? Do you struggle to master the squat and don’t know if you are doing it right?  

Our team are here to help. Sometime it can be difficult to find a member of staff when you need one so we have designed the helping hand appointment so you can access the fitness team as often as you like at a time that suits you.  

Ask for help with: 

  • Technique guidance
  • Equipment support
  • Exercise ideas
  • Digital support  

What to do before the appointment:

We suggest you book an appointment at a time you are attending the facilities for a workout as appointments will be 15-30 minutes.  

To get the most from your appointment you should:

Download our app for all your sport, health and wellbeing needs with timetables, information, bookings and digital content available at a touch of a button.

Students and staff automatically have an account with us so, once you download the app and are logging in for the first time, you’ll just need to reset your password using your University email address.

Community members logging in for the first time will need to reset their password using the same email address that's on their member account.
