About me
I am a Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education in the Faculty of Social Sciences, with a specialism in Physical Education. I am also a Lecturer in Sport in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, with a specialism in Sport Development and Coaching and Sport and Exercise Psychology.
Previous to this I was a P.E teacher in schools across Scotland for 15 years. I held leadership positions in Curriculum Development, Sports including Hockey, Tennis, Pastoral Care as well as leading whole school events (sports days, swimming galas, hockey festivals).
My professional career interests include sport psychology, psycho-social education, pedagogy, coaching and mentoring, and certificated physical education.
I've recently (Autumn 2025) completed an MSc in Sport Psychology and continue to have a passion for sport, playing international Masters Hockey. My dissertation was titled 'Inside the Interval: The Social-Affective Dynamics of Half-Time in Elite Women's Field Hockey'.
